Lupin was born to John Lupin, a wizard of known integrity from the ministry of magic, and his wife, Joanne. John came from a long line of upstanding wizards in the family. He was an only child and his father died a few months before Remus was born. Joanne found out her husband was a wizard when his father died. Remus was born in March and by the time he arrived Joanne had come to terms with her husband's secret. She was a very warm, maternal woman. Life changed, however, when Remus was a boy. An enemy John made at work ruined the peace of their family. John still won't tell his family what he said to Fenrir Greyback to make him so angry, but as was a hobby of Fenrir's, the werewolf waited outside the Lupin home one evening until his transformation. He didn't know if he planned to bite or maul Mrs. Lupin or the boy, but Remus ran outside to find his pet cat and Greyback attacked. Remus was bitten on his right side, along his ribs. The scar to date has stretched as he's grown to cover most of his side from his chest to his hip.  | |||||||||
